The Amazing Origin of Atlantis!
by Doug Crowder
$49.95
This narrative begins not in ancient times, but on the newly risen Continent of Atlantis maybe 300 years in your future. Follow the adventures of SMIF, a lowly field operative for BOSO (The Bizarre Occurrences and Sightings Operation), who is assigned the task of finding out whether the new Atlantis is sinking, and if so, how to save it. He decides that to save the new Atlantis, he must unravel the mysteries of Ancient Atlantis. He travels back in time to meet with Plato, the Greek philosopher who made the first written mention of Atlantis in about 360 BC. Then he travels in directions that you wouldn’t expect, until the tale’s dramatic resolution.

PREQUELS TO THE AMAZING ORIGIN OF ATLANTIS
KNIGHTS OF THE SUN
The Saga of West Atlantis starts in about 1977 with the KNIGHTS OF THE SUN pentalogy (Pentalogy = series of 5 books). At least, it was originally planned to be a 5-part series, but it ended up being more than 5 or less than 5, depending on what books are considered to be part of the series.
JUDAS ARMSTRONG
WEIGHT: Between 110 and 125 pounds.
AGE: Appears to be 35, but is believed to be much older.
OCCUPATION: Adventurer. Superb-Hero™. Pilot. Tour Guide.
SPECIAL ABILITIES. Adept in various forms of martial arts. Has a magic sword with which he can slice through time and space.
WEAKNESSES. Often seems confused and disoriented, as a possible result of his rapid time travel (or from too much tequila).
PART 1: SOFT LANDING ON THE SUN
Why would anyone in their right mind volunteer to fly the first ship to the sun? They wouldn’t! But Judas Armstrong wasn’t in his right mind that day! UNDER CONSTRUCTION
PART 2: ARIZONA AMBUSH
$5.99
Something happened to Judas Armstrong as he drove across Arizona. But what? Was he abducted by aliens? Or did he just spend a weekend in a bad hotel?
PART 3: GUARDIANS OF THE GARDEN
Judas soon realizes that he’s no longer in Arizona, but in the Garden of Eaton, on a distant planet whose founders intended to build an ideal race. This is a challenging culture for Judas, since he is neither tall, muscular or blond – and probably of the wrong religion as well. Some say that Judas is the fulfillment of a prophesy about “a small dark man from the stars who will change Eaton’s destiny.” Others are not quite convinced. NOT YET REDISCOVERED
PART 4: THE WIZARDS OF WESTONIA
At the end of GUARDIANS OF THE GARDEN, Judas steps through a hole in time and space and ends up on a world simply known as “The Planet,” where he has several bizarre and ludicrous adventures before returning to Eaton. For the supporting cast in the GARDEN, only a few hours elapse before Judas’ return, but for Judas, several weeks have gone by before Judas reappears at the beginning of the next chronological novel. NOT YET REDISCOVERED
PART 5: THE BATTLE OF PINE RIDGE
Judas returns to Eaton, to find that two competing interstellar empires (the Devil’s Alliance and the Holy Brotherhood) have both laid claim to the peaceful planet. Not only the fate of Eaton, but also the fate of Earth will be determined by how Judas intervenes in this conflict between giants. NOT YET REDISCOVERED
PART 6: SHOWDOWN AT THE CENTER OF THE GALAXY
Judas ventures to the capital of the Holy Brotherhood, an artificial planet-sized fortress called The Citadel, where he faces the leader, Bartholomew, who claims to be 9 million years old (his detractors say he’s not a day over 900,000). NOT YET REDISCOVERED
VARIOUS JUDAS ARMSTRONG ADVENTURES
Judas also has several single-story adventures. The order in which these happen is not certain, nor particularly important. Since Judas travels through time quite a bit, it often happens that the sequence of events he perceives is not the same sequence as perceived by the rest of the cast.
Many of these adventures happen on a distant world known only as the Planet, and have a recurring cast of supporting characters, primary of which are AUNT AGATHA and UNCLE FELIX. At least that’s what they are called, though they are probably no actual relation to Judas. They are well-to-do, and are always happy to provide Judas with free room and board when he appears.
FIASCO IN ST. FRISKEY
Judas has never sought out the role of Superb-Hero™, but sometimes the role seeks him out. Aunt Agatha and Uncle Felix persuade him to don his Captain Freedom costume so that he can rescue the kidnapped daughter of a visiting foreign leader before two nations are drawn into war. But will he be able to figure out what sort of superb-powers he supposedly has in time to save the day?
THE ANIMAL LOVERS
Judas finds himself on an unnamed planet full of animal-loving soupivores (Soupivore = a species that eats primarily soup). But when the planet’s sun begins to go super-nova, Judas wonders – is he his animal’s keeper? Or his keeper’s animal?
THE SECRET OF THE SAUCE
$5.99
Aunt Agatha and Uncle Felix take Judas out for a relaxing dinner at one of the city’s finer restaurants. But when heavy-handed agents from BURRP (The Bureau for the Regulation of Radioactive Power) show up to confiscate the new sauce being unveiled that evening (in the name of “national security” of course) and rough up some bystanders in the process, Judas again takes on the mantle of Captain Freedom, determined to discover – the Secret of the Sauce.
These 3 adventures are now available in one volume.
LUNCHTIME OF THE GODS
On the completely unrelated planet known as The Ground, astronomer LUCY SKYWATCHER makes the shocking discovery that stars are simply disappearing. This discovery becomes even more shocking when she calculates that the next star will disappear in only a few days, and will be her planet’s own Sun. Consulting ancient legends, she concludes that probable culprit is The Great God Burble-de-Gurk, the Muncher of Stars. She enlists the aid of Judas Armstrong. But will he be able to stop Burble-de-Gurk in time to save Lucy’s planet? AVAILABLE SOON
CONQUELS™ TO THE AMAZING ORIGIN OF ATLANTIS
“Conquel” is a word devised by the author, for which he claims a trademark! No one else can use that word without paying a royalty! What is a “conquel?” Just as a sequel is a story that takes place after another story, and a prequel is a story that takes place before, a CONQUEL is a story that takes place concurrently – or at approximately the same time – as another.
After the Judas Armstrong series, there is a gap in the saga of several hundred years, between approximately 1977 until some unspecified future time, after the “Decade of Chaos.” The time period is never specified, but is variously estimated to be 200 to 400 years in the future.
THE AZHULAR SERIES
Azhular
LORD OF THE CONSTITUTION
In the America of the future, the Supreme Court has become the dominant branch of government. The President is but a figurehead. Congress has been disbanded. No one will dare to stand against the evil Chief Justice Smead – no one except for Azhular, an idealistic young law student who dreams of returning America to the ways of the Constitution. AVAILABLE ONLY IN PAPERBACK. $15 INCLUDING SHIPPING.
OMINOUS OMENS OVER OMAHA
Loosely based on an out-take from LORD OF THE CONSTITUTION, it takes place between Books 2 and 3 of the Trilogy. Azhular has just become Chief Justice, and is faced with his first major challenge as the leader of Amer-Kha’s troops – a crisis that could literally cause the Constitution to be burned to a crisp! A giant, fire-breathing lizard is approaching the capital city of O’Maha! UNDER CONSTRUCTION. AVAILABLE SOON!
TRIAL OF THE CENTURY
$5.99
Azhular is still the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, but has also become a singer-songwriter. He is approached by Jane Q. Public, a concerned citizen from the Planet Mudd, who asks Azhular to save her planet from the rising tide of crime, poverty and general craziness. He agrees, taking his guitar as a secret weapon.
THE URMA UNDERSTANDING SERIES
When the series begins, URMA UNDERSTANDING is a fairly new attorney practicing in Tranquility Town (on the east coast of the newly risen Continent of Atlantis) with the firm of Peace & Love. She later becomes a partner and the firm becomes Peace, Love & Understanding. She seems to get in high profile, if not high paying cases.
ESCAPE FROM TRANQUILITY
Tranquility Town is ruled by the Tyrant of Tranquility. Urma is approached by a young lady who has a young baby fathered by the Tyrant, who now plans to take her baby away from her. With his high-priced attorneys and sympathetic courts, Urma’s client is unlikely to win. But Urma comes up with a plan to ESCAPE FROM TRANQUILITY. AVAILABLE SOON.
TULIPS FOR THE TYRANT
Under Construction.
A TOWN WITHOUT LAWYERS
Have you ever imagined how peaceful and simple life would be without lawyers? Well, that dream comes true in A TOWN WITHOUT LAWYERS, when the City of En-Sayne on the scenic North Coast of Atlantis, passes an ordinance banning lawyers from practicing in the city – except, of course, for those who represent banks, big business, or the government.
THE SGT. HARMONY SERIES
Sgt. Harmony was born and raised in South Atlantis City. His full name is Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Harmony, but that was too long to put on the birth certificate, so he became just Sgt. Pepper Harmony. Later in life he changed his name to Colonel Jalapeno Harmony, then Generalissimo Habanero Harmony. He is able to talk with birds, and became the Director of BOSO – the Bizarre Occurrences and Sightings Office.
He appears in two books of the Azhular series. In LORD OF THE CONSTITUTION, He has a short but significant role as one of the Atlantean Warhawks recruited by Azhular’s army, who uses his ability to talk to birds to enlist the aid of a flock of pterodactyls. In TRIAL OF THE CENTURY, he appears as the director of BOSO, and sings the second song of the musical, “Bizarre Occurrences and Sightings.”
POKER IS FOR THE BIRDS
Have you ever imagined how peaceful and simple life would be without lawyers? Well, that dream comes true in A TOWN WITHOUT LAWYERS, when the City of En-Sayne on the scenic North Coast of Atlantis, passes an ordinance banning lawyers from practicing in the city – except, of course, for those who represent banks, big business, or the government.
THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE …
Sgt. Harmony uses his ability to talk with birds to start a new business – the Early Bird X-Press. Specially trained birds deliver packages. (This was long before the technology for drones or self-driving delivery vehicles was re-discovered). The business is booming until – disaster! An expensive package of rare and exotic worms is eaten by the delivery staff. Facing financial ruin and fleeing his creditors, Sgt. Harmony joins Azhular’s Army and goes to fight the YUKS (Yeripean Unified Konglomerate), as described in LORD OF THE CONSTITUTION.
MANUSCRIPT NOT YET REDISCOVERED
UNTITLED
Soon after Harmony becomes leader of a flock of pterodactyls, the severe Yeripean winter approaches, and Harmony knows that the pterodactyls will not be able to survive the cold. Harmony requests, and is granted, permission to take the flock to a warmer climate – on condition that he establish an Amer-Khan colony wherever he ends up.
HIS OWN KIND
This short story tells some of Harmony’s adventures in Africa. AVAILABLE SOON.
THE FIRST AMERICANS
A group of four Amer-Khan pilots is transported by an evil sorcerer to the days of the dinosaur. The two men, Joey and Luis, and the two women, Joy and Louise, manage to survive, have several children, and set up the first Amer-Khan colony. They are brought back to their own time, where they meet Harmony in Africa. They persuade Harmony to return with them to Amer-Kha. They arrive just in time to see Azhular use his magic sword to cause the Sunken City of Los Ankalees to rise from the sea. (As also described in the closing chapter of LORD OF THE CONSTITUTION). Shortly after that, they tour the newly risen city. The San Fernando Valley seems to be a useless swamp, and Harmony helps to negotiate a deal with Azhular for Atlantis to take that area as a colony, which then becomes Atlantis Valley – later West Atlantis. THE AMAZING ORIGIN OF ATLANTIS.
This is our featured book. It was 24 years in the making – started in 2000 and completed in 2022 – with a few more details and illustrations after that.
However, scholars disagree on whether this book fits in with the rest of the West Atlantis Mythos.
The biggest argument of the Separatists (those who contend that this book does not fit in) is that the main character, Smif, does not appear in any other West Atlantis stories.
Admittedly, there is a character named Smif featured in an unrelated story, THIS IS IT, but Separatists contend that this is a completely different person with a similar name.
The Consistency Crew (those who contend that this story fits in smoothly with the rest of the Mythos) contend that Smif is simply a nickname for Sgt. Harmony. They point to earlier drafts of the story that feature Harmony, who ventures back in time along with his pterodactyl, Henrietta.
The Separatists answer this with the argument that Smif has a different appearance and slightly different personality from Harmony – and Smif has no pet pterodactyl and no apparent ability to communicate with birds.
Whichever side is correct, it is agreed that the events in THE AMAZING ORIGIN take place after LORD OF THE CONSTITUTION, and before TRIAL OF THE CENTURY. How can we determine that? In LOTC, Harmony has not yet joined BOSO, and in TOC, he is already the director of BOSO.
